Job Description: Media Operations

Position Overview: As a key member of the Professional Football League’s operations team, the Media Operations role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of media operations and ensuring the smooth execution of broadcasting and digital media activities. This position requires a strong understanding of media production, broadcast technology, and digital media platforms to support the League’s media coverage, fan engagement, and revenue generation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Broadcast Operations:
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of broadcast operations, including pre-production, production, and post-production activities.
  • Collaborate with broadcast partners and production teams to ensure high-quality and seamless broadcast coverage of games and other League events.
  • Oversee the scheduling, logistics, and technical requirements for live broadcasts, including camera crews, commentators, and production equipment.
  1. Digital Media Management:
  • Manage the League’s digital media platforms, including the League’s website, mobile apps, and social media channels.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of digital content, including video highlights, player interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage.
  • Collaborate with digital media partners to optimize content distribution and engage fans across various digital platforms.
  1. Media Relations:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for media organizations, coordinating press conferences, interviews, and media access to players, coaches, and League executives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media representatives, fostering positive and collaborative interactions.
  • Monitor media coverage and provide timely updates and responses to media inquiries.
  1. Content Management:
  • Oversee the organization, storage, and distribution of media assets, including game footage, photos, and archived content.
  • Implement systems and workflows to ensure efficient and secure access to media assets for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Football Film Department and other teams to leverage media assets for player evaluation, scouting, and content creation.
  1. Sponsorship Integration:
  • Collaborate with the sponsorship team to integrate sponsor activations and messaging into media operations and broadcasts.
  • Ensure contractual obligations related to sponsorships and advertising are fulfilled during media coverage and digital media content.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance sponsor visibility and generate revenue through media operations.
  1. Quality Control and Compliance:
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of media content, including broadcast graphics, audio, and video playback.
  • Ensure compliance with league rules, broadcasting regulations, and licensing agreements.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in media operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media production, broadcasting, or a related field. Additional certifications or specialized training in media production is a plus.
  • Proven experience in media operations, broadcast production, or digital media management, preferably within the sports industry.
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast technology, video production equipment, and digital media platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, media partners, and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality media content.
  • Familiarity with media relations practices and experience working with media outlets.
  • Proficiency in media production software and tools, such as video editing software, content management systems, and social media platforms.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to support live events and media coverage.
